Anna and Amanda discuss the UK Crime Writers' Association Dagger Awards shortlists.
Our book of the week is The Train Was On Time by Heinrich Böll, translated by Leila Vennewitz, with an introduction by Anna Funder. We loved this novel about a man on his way to war. Winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, Böll "reaches the highest level of creative originality and stylistic perfection" (Daily Telegraph). A small gem.
Next week, Anna and Amanda will be reading Fake by Stephanie Wood.
