A short, powerful novel about a crime in 1949 and a young woman investigating in modern-day Palestine, it was longlisted for the 2021 International Booker Prize and shortlisted for the 2020 National Book Awards for translated literature. It was also the group read-along for the Women in Translation Month #WITReadathon.
