Our book of the week is Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead. This sweeping historical novel about a 1950s woman aviator and modern-day movie star has been shortlisted for the Booker Prize. Described as a 'soaring masterclass' (Telegraph), the Donna Tartt comparisons are apt.
